SSHP08 - Ornament

It has most defenitely been a very good week in my cardmaking world. I made top 3 over at Saturday Spotlight, I got a Gold Star over at Midnight Madness and today I made Top 4 over at det Play Date Cafe. I am out of words. Thank you so much everyone!

So I guess playing theese challenges this week will be like jumping after Wirkola (an internal Norwegian joke).

Anyway, over to my card. This is for the SSHP (hope I make the deadline!). Their challenge this week was to make an ornament. That was a hard one! I was quit determined NOT to go vintage, but.... se how far that got me.... I have tried and tried all week to make an ornament, but everything just looked wrong, so I ended up with vintage... again. Sorry for that!

There is one thing about this card that has kept me awake all night. At the top there is some text, and it looks like it says Death. Not very christmasy. So I had to change it. The text now says "Gledelig jul" (Merry Christmas).

This is now the final version of this card ;o) (I hope).

The God Jul text is a computer print. The font is called Anglo text. The red paper is "Angel Breaht" from Iron Orchid Designs, and the brown paper is "Ancestral Remember Moments Quote" from TPC Studio.

My ornament are theese "things" (not sure about the english word for it, cone?).
We use to decorate them with angels, and fill them with gingerbreads and hang them on the tree, so I hope they qualify to be called an ornament.

I have decorated them with some thin gold string, some pale pink pearls and inside there is Cleanex sprayed with Glimmer Mist. Not easy to take good pictures of it.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a nice evening!

Do you see what I got?

I got a gold star from the MMSC!

I got the star for this vintage christmascar(d).
This really put a smile on my face this morning ;o)

Thank you so much ladies!

Have a nice day! I know I will!

I made top 3!

I woke up this morning and found a very nice comment on my blog.

"Hi Gunn!!! Congrats!!! You've made one of the TOP 3 Spotlights on the Saturday Spotlight challenges!! :) Please stop by to get your blinkie!! HUGS"

If that isn't the best way to start the day, then I don't know what is ;o)

Yesterday I came across a new (to me)challengeblog. The Play Date Cafe Challenge.

They had this colorcombo challenge this week. I have never done a colorcombo before. I'm not very good with color, but somehow i wanted to play this challenge, so I did my best.

It is a scraplift from a card I saw once, that I really loved. I got a nice summerfeel I think. Thats ok, it has been pouring down rain all week here now, so I needed some summer now ;o)

It is a cascade of butterflies!

I got theese small halfpearls from my aunt for my birthday and I thougth they vere beautiful, but ...... blue? When would I ever need blue pearls? It is funny how things turn out, suddendly I needed blue pearls ;o)

Thanks for stopping by, and have a nice evening!

MMSC #28

Here is my entry for the MMSC #28. I did say in a previous post that I saw lots of vintage cristmascards in my future, and I was right! Maybe I should start a new business being a fortuneteller *LOL* I could start one of thoose hotlines and make a lot of money - it could finance my cardmaking hobby ;o)

I had the "flow" so I made one more. Almost the same but with just a few differences.

I really like the little penny-charm hanging under the flower. I thought it fit nice on a christmascard. A penny for good luck and good health in the comming year or something. ;o)

Have a nice evening!

Black and white, and a dash of red.

This is a very simple, but I think a very elegant card. I have taken my inspiration from Sarita over at Little Princess card. She makes the most beautiful cards, using damask patterns. My image here is a rub-on. Looks almost like a chandelair dosen't it?

I do belive that this card did not need color, but I wanted the little dash of red anyway.

I am going to lay down and rest my back for a while now. This morning when I got out of bed and ended up holding on to the wall screaming for help. My back just would not hold me up. So I guess that I should not sit here in front of the computer. But it is so boring laying down, watching TV. I want to make cards.... well well.

Have a nice evening!

Vintage Christmascard

I had to make another vintage christmascard tonight. Now that I know how to make my own background. I have only used plain cardboard to make this card. And the image is one that I won in the candy mentioned in a previous post.

A close up of the flower that I have built up of several different types of flowers and petals.

A little detail.
Another little detail.

Have a nice evening!

SSHP07 - Make a masterboard

I made Top 3 with this card! I got a blinke for my sidebar!

I made jet another challenge tonight. I'm rather proud of myself now. This is for the Saturday Spotlight Challenge.

Here is my masterboard:

I have never made one of those before, so thanks for the tutorial!

I think it did fit quite nice to this vintage looking christmascard.

The vintage photo was one that I won in a blog candy over at Else Lindas . I have had some trouble finding out how to use thees photos, but I think I got it now. Lucky me, I have got more of them, and I know how to make a masterboard. I can see lots of vintage christmascard in my near future!

Have a nice day!

MMSC #27

I finally got around to play a challenge again. It has been weeks since my last entry. Very sorry about that. Anyway here is my entry for the MMSC # 27

I think that this winter scene stamp from Penny Black is very beautiful.

Have a nice day!

I am alive... I think

It was harder to go back to work than I could ever imagine. So I have not had a lot of energy left for blogging. But I have made some cards.

It was my birthday the 30th october and my darlig mom took me shopping for a lot of craftsgear, and my aunt dug deep into her craftsdrawers, so no I have a lot of goodies to work with ;o)

Just have to get my mojo back...

All these card are pretty simple, some because of my missing mojo, and some because the background paper was so beautiful that I could not cover it up.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!
