Innocence

Hi!

Monday I was hit by the mother of all colds. It is not easy to be crative when your brain is wraped up in cotton. I did try but ended up with a ruined DP. And it was a beautiful DP. Anyway, I think I am getting better and have finally managed to create something this evening.

But before I share I have to tell you a little story.

Monday morning a little 9 year old boy put on his winter clothes and left for school. 100 meters from the school enterace he is raped. 2 hours later the police arrested a 17 year old boy for the crime. This happes 2 minutes from my home. My stepson used to go to that school.

We live in a very quiet neigborhood. It is safe here. Suddendly it does not feel safe. I know that it was safer for my 12 year old stepson to walk to school on tusday then it had been on monday, but the feeling in my stomach when he left was not a good one.

The 17 year old suspect denies any knowlegde to the incident. It also turns out that he works in a kindergarten. This has been on my mind all week. Thinking about allt he children beeing sexually abused every day, living in fear of their fathers, brothers, uncles or other realtives.

Feeling totally helpless in a world with such horrors it is nice to escape into the world of crafting and blogging. It is nice here. People are kind and happy. But I sometimes find it difficult to differ the the bloggingworld for the real world. Last week I dicovered ATC's and decided that my ATC's is going to be about the world around me and the thing I find important. So I have made some ATC's as a statement (a small and helpless statment) against sexually abuse of children.

The sentiment says "Innocence".

Sketch #103 from Sketches {by Tamara}

The picture is from The graphics Fairy so I am entering this also to her Brag Monday, (if she holds on this monday).

The little note is a punch, so I am also entering this set in the
Simon Says challenge wich is to punch something. And since Simon Says has a DT call I do enter them there to. Why not?

Thanks for stopping by!

Hei

Alt er godt her.

Takk for besøket!

Hi Gunn - I hear you my friend and have at times been overwhelmed by the cruelness of people, My heart just breaks for the innocent victims, particularly when they are children! Thank God there are people like yourself Gunn, who care - in a world that has so much 'rubbish' happening I am grateful for those who have not forgotten how to love! God bless you Gunn!!
Your ATC's are beautiful and perfectly capture 'innocence' I love that image and the way you have individualised each one - thank you Gunn for sharing - you know we love to see you each week and appreciate your support. A big {{{hug}}} from me to you!!!

Hi Gunn, I am so sorry to hear that has happened and so close to home too. Very upsetting. I can not stand those types of acts toward childern. Crimes against childern and animals are very upsetting to me and I have a hard time dealing with the sadness around those subjects. I think your statment here with your ATC cards is a good one. I know that the blogging world is an escape for many of us and I hope that through crafting and blogging about this horrible event in your area has helped you to some how work through it. Thank you so much for sharing and try to think happy thoughts.

Klem,
Aud

Gunn, I love what you have done with these ATC's to express what is in your heart. They are absolutely beautiful and do convey the innocence of children. I am always so disheartened to hear about the abuse of children. It's hard to comprehend the cruelness and sickness of it. We also have two little girls near our community that have been the subject of some abuse. A little girl was murdered and found in the dump after being taken while walking home from school. Another went missing never found and the parents were just arrested in a big drug sting. Just know there are many more people that feel like you and love children then would want to hurt them. Thanks for taking the time this week to join us in the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge. We would be thrilled if you joined us again next week as we love to visit and view your work.

Bear hugs,
Carol :o}

Hi Gunn... thank you so much for sharing your heart with us! How sad it is that we live in a sinful painful world, and it is especially hard when the victims are innocent little children! Your cards just tell a beautiful story of innocence and youth... one we love to dwell on! Beautifully done on all four! The MMSC team thanks you for playing with us each week! Hugs@

Your ATCs reflect in a wonderful way the innocence of children. Children are most precious. I will never understand how people can hurt children in such a way. It is very very sad. My heart goes out to the boy and your community.

Oh gosh what a sad story. That poor child! Most likely the 17 year old was a victim of the same abuse when he was younger, such an awful cycle.
Thank you so much for linking your beautiful pieces up today, they are lovely!

How sad! It is always disturbing to me to hear these stories about innocent children and it goes on far too often I'm afraid.
I've gotten to where I seldom watch the news anymore. I fear for all those poor children in Haiti too that have no one to look out for them.
I love your little image-just adorable. I love the vintage look of all your ATC's- wonderful job!
