How is that for a price! WOW!

My card this week was quite challenging I thought. I did actually made two before I was able to make one that I was satisfied with. Then I took about a hundred pictures of it, dragging it all around the house for good lightening. I guess I did not do the best job of it, because it still is a bit shiny. But it will just have to be good enough this time.

I got to use this faboulus Arabella image from D'amore Allure. Isn't she beautiful! I wish I could wear a dress like that - and look this good. I have colored her with watercolorpencils. I cut out the birds and put them on foamdots to raise them.

My background musicpaper is some that I have taken form a childrens song book. It was actually from a childrens TV-show when I was a kid, so it was hard to tear it apart. Not that it was a good TV-show, nor that I do remember the songs, but I remember the the characters, and I really don't like to tear up books. For my Norwegian readers: Det var sangboka til Klabb og Babb som gikk med her *Ler* Husker dere Klabb og Babb?

I put a metal plate in the corner, added some flowers and a silver butterfly and some rose-what do you call these? Rosebuns? Oh well, I hope you understand what I mean.

No, run over to Midnight Madness Challenge blog and play along! I am looking forward to see what you all will make!

Thanks so much for stopping by. I love it when my mail says *pling* and there is a comment for me. Makes me smile all day long!

Take care!

MMSC #50 and the game has changed

This is kind of wierd really. I have played the Midnight Madness sketch challenge for quite some time now - and now I am not a player anymore. For some reason I have been chosen to be on the Design Team for the next 3 months. It is very cool, but I must admit that it is kind of scary too. The game has changed!

I did not know how to color this image, but then I came to think about this cool technique I saw once, were you cut out a little pice of the image, colored this piece an poped it on foamdots to raise it. It really makes that part of the image stand out. Can't remeber where I saw this technique described. Sorry about that, but it is as easy as I just told you.

I put a piece of acetate on my rose, attached the acetate with some Diamond Glaze so it got a really nice shine.

The flowers, leafs and charms are all stuff I got from my aunt Wenche. Thank you!

The DP is from TPC studio and is called Time to travel - French Phrases. I don't know were the image is from, but I have used stamps from Stempelglede and Tim Holtz.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Now go check out the Midnight Madness blog and make a card following one of these two sketches!

MMSC # 49

I am glad I don't have any plans for traveling these days. The whole of northen Europe is kind of closed down. Well, all airline traffic is closed down. I think Iceland is doing a insuransescam. They went bankcrupt so now they set the whole ting on fire to clam the insurancemoney! Either that or they are getting back on England - showing England that even though they are small, you don't mess with Iceland *LOL* England has blamed Iceland for the financial crisis and do demad that Iceland pay England a HUGE amount of money that Iceland of course don't have. I think this is Icelands respons to this claim - yeah sure, you go claim us for money, then we will blow a vulcano on you! HA!

We have not seen anything of this ashes here yet, but there is a bad smell outside - it is not supposed to be dangerous so all is well then I think ;o)

Over to the card.

Not the highpoint of my cardmaking career this. But sometimes you just have to have fun, right? I just could not make this right, but I soo wanted to use this cool tiger. Look at his face - he don't have any good intentions in mind do he? *LOL*

I found him at one of those free vector image sites. It was a challenge to make him fit to the jigsawpuzzel from the MMSC#49 sketch. Does tigers and jigsawpuzzels have anything in common? If they do please tell me!

I had quite a bit of struggel with those puzzelpieces tried them in many different colors and patterns, but I ended up with these made of a paper that looks like leather - the closest I could get to the animal world. But they were so boring. So I had to find somehting to break the bordom there.

I tried with some metal charms - but the only ones I had that could have fit was to "pretty". So I tried with a mulberry rose, and I tried with a metal flower, and I tried with a metalflower with a mulberry rose. That was a very cool combination but it was soooo wrong for this card.

I ended up with these grungeboardelements that I embossed. The star I embossed in gold, and the arrow with distress embossing - probably vintage photo.

I went even more animal with this snakeskinpaper that I layed as a background.

This is not a happy card. It is not even a nice card and I sure hope that I will never experience the day that this card will be appropriate to give to someone. But I do know someone who will se the humor. It is really the inside of this card that showes it's purpose.

It is not good to see, but it says:

They're coming to take you away HAHA!
They're coming to take you away HEHE
To the funny farm
where life is beautiful all the time.

It's from a song called They're coming to take me away HAHA! By
Dr. Demento's Delights

It says originally "They're coming to take me away, but I thought that I would for sure never send a card telling the world that I was going to the funny farm. So I had to change that. Sending off a card to someone else - well thats a different story isn't it *LOL* Kind of a nice warning to a good friend you know...
Hey, now you have gone so nuts that someone will come pick you up soon. Have a nice stay!

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I sure hope you a bit of fun while you were here!
Take care!

MMSC # 48

Happy birthday Eivind!

Actually his birthday was yesterday, but I could not publish this card until I was sure he had recived it.

This is my second entry for MMSC # 48 It was quite fun to make two so different cards using the same sketch. This card is for my cousin Eivind who turned 19 today.
The image is called Tipsy McStagger and is from Sunshine Stamps. I have used some old coins and the image behind Tipsy also looks like money don't they? It is a stamp that I borrowed form my aunt. Tipsy got a teenagermustasje ;o) that was not intentional, but looks pretty cool.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a nice day and take care!

Simon Says - a card for a child

This is my last week as a guest designer for Simon Says. It has sure been a lot of fun! The Simon Says DT's are very talented so it has been an honor to be spotlighted by them. Thank you so much for having me as your guest designer!

The challenge this week is to make a card for a child. Not my strongest side there - can you tell? But ok, when do you stop being a child? Simon Says encorage us all to look at the Make a child smile website and send a card to a child who needs some extra attention.
I found 16 year old Bethany, and she sure needs a smile! While fighting cancer, her dad dies. Now it also turns out that her older sister is pregnant and the unborn child has some kidney problems. It is a hard story to read. Life can be so unfair some times! You can read more about Bethany here, and find her adress. Please have her in mind while making a card for this challenge!

I decided to make an Orlando Bloom card for Bethany. I sure hope she likes him.... but then again, is it possible NOT to like Orlando Bloom? I added som harts, some pearls, some flowers and a bit of sparkle. I guess it is as girly as it can be in my world *LOL*

I have made the card after the MMSC #48 sketch. I always have to play the MMSC, they have the best sketches! ;o)

So go and check out the Simon Says Challengeblog. Visit the DT's and then make a card for a child who really needs it! Go see the Make a child smile website today!

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a nice day and take care!

Takk for besøket og hjertelig velkommen tilbake ;o)

MMSC # 47

I am having a great time here at my aunts. Not very productive, but I managed to make this card for the MMSC #47.

When I saw this sketch I had got an instand wiew in my mind about what this card had to look like. The Marilyn Monoroe image is a free vector image found here.

Since I made my own DP paper for this card I will also enter it to this weeks Drunkes Stamper challenge.

Have a nice day!
