Vintage hart

Just a quick post today. It is my stepdaughters 17th birthday today, so I should not be sitting here at all. There will not be a big party and a big celebration, but I guess I have to take the vakumcleaner for a walk at least....

This card is for the these challenges
Simon says - Vintage with flowers
Drunken stampers - Glitter and lace
OCC - Sketch

If you are looking for the glitter it is at the bottom. The pinebranches under the flowers has got a layer of black stickles on them ;o)

Ok, I have to go shopping for cake - I think we will go for chocolatecake today *yummy*

Thanks for stopping by and have a very nice day!

MMSC # 42 and FFTC# 55

I am very honored that the sweet ladies over at MMSC gave me this award for this card! Thank you so much!

This might just be my most feminine card ever. I am quite proud of that. The DP is from Panduro, called "Swirls in Silver" by Vibeke Spigseth. Very beautiful paper! To bad I have coverd it up.... *dah!* I have added some swirls on the sides. I got them in a RAK from my aunt. She has got herself a blog finally. Check it out here and give her some love. Her blog is only a couple of days old.

I have embossed the swirls with Distress embossing (color Brushed Corduroy). A very nice lady let me borrow her pinepunch this weekend. I have wanted this punch for a while, so it was very nice to be able to punch out some pinebranches and see how much I will use it. And I do use it... I really have to get that punch!

The image is one I have printet out. Found the image on the great internet, it is a beautiful image of some white tulips. The sketch is from Midnight Madness of course. I also enter the card for Flourishes Tusday who has a flowerchallenge this week. They have got a new blog - check it out here.

We are doing better in the Olympics. It startet out slow, but now we have 6 gold medals. 3 silvers and 5 bronses. We are very excited about the fancy pants curlingboys. They have made it to the semifinals and we are cheering on them the best we can!

Thank you so much for stopping by. Your nice comments always makes

me smile.

MMSC # 41 and FTTC#54

I have an apoligy to make! I said that Marcus was no romantic, but he showed me a new side of himself on Valentines day. When I went to bed sunday evening he had lit candels in the bedroom and on my bedside table I found these beautiful flowers.
He is just the best!

Yesterday was a lucky day for me. First I got my order for Simon Says. I have been waiting for sooo long for that one. I had orderd som Tim Holtz grungeboard and some distress Embossing powder. In the mailbox I also found a RAK from my aunt. She had punched out lots of goodies for me. She is so sweet!

And then I found my favorite necklaces at the discount store. I thought they were all out of them, but I found some bits and pices that I got extra cheap ;o)

Look at this:

From this pile i got all this:

Lots of cool embellishments for my cards, and I did not even pay a dollar. I like that!

So I had a lot of new and fun stuff to work with making this weeks MMSC #41 card.
Flourishes Tusday had a fun challenge this week, called
"All about me".
"Use what you love and what makes you happy!! Use your favorite colors, stamps, layout, and embellishments! Whatever ROCKS your world! We would love to see what you create!"

My first thought about this challenge was that my image had to be of books. I love books and have been a reader all my life. And then I found this very cool picture of a big, old bookshelf, filld with old books. I knew that I had to use this picture.

I work at a library, but it is a new library, with funky black bookshelfs and computers and spotlights.... I would love to work in a library who had bookshelfs like this one on the image I have used. That is my dream.

Anyway, such an proud old bookshelf of cours needed some cool oldlooking embellishment. So I have used quite a lot of my new embossingpowder ;o)

At first I thought that there were something wrong with it. It did not melt like embossingpowder usually do, and then some of it came off afterwords..... veird, but then I read on the Ranger page that it was supposed to do so. And I do love the effect it has!

I added some black lace and some halfpearls.

Some Mulberry roses with the hartcharm from my necklacepile ;o)

I just love those grungboard elements. Won't be long until I place a new order for them...

Look at this bookshelf! Isn't it fantastic?

This hart was one of the punched elements I got in the RAK from my aunt. I really liked it, and it looked so cool when embossed with distress embossing.

There is still snowing here in Kristiansand. Yesterday we got another 20 cm, and I think that we may have got 10 cm today. And this is in addition to the about 1 meter we already had.... I think we will have snow until May....

We are doing very poorly in the olympics... But we got the explanation for this on the radio today. Some Indiantribe in Vancouver is on hungerstrike, protesting about some Norwegian fishing industry in Canada. They have apparantly targeted the Norwegian athletes in the olymic, sending them lots and lots of bad energy.
Luckily we have a Norwegian shaman who claims to be able to neutralise this bad energy.....

All kind of weirdos shows up under the olympics. Makes it a lot more fun!

Thank you so much for stopping by, and thank you for all the lovely comments you leave for me. When I wake up in the morning i rush to my computer just to check my e-mail for comments from you ;o)

Take care!

YOU GO BOYS!

Norway is normaly one of the countries that do well in the winter olympics. So far it has been a dread to watch our athlets in vancouver, but we still have high hopes for them. So far we have 2 silver medals and 1 bronze.

Emil Hegle Svendsen - Silver at men's biathlon 10 km Sprint
Aksel Lund Svindal - Silver at men's downhill
Marit Bjørgen - Bronze at womens cross country 10 km Free

So it is a little comfort for me to show you this little list over medals. Norway tops the list over total amount of medals in the Winter Olympics. And even though we have not taken any gold jet, it is still quite a number differens down to number two...

A Mardi Gras Birthday

This is my post # 100 ;o)

My stepdaugthers 17th birthday is comming up soon. She loves pink, so I thougth this might be a good opportunity to combine this color with some challenges.

Helene blir snart 17 år. Da må jeg jo ha et kort til henne. Hun er veldig glad i rosa, så da måtte det jo bli rosa da ;o)

I am not sure about the rules here but this card is made after the sneak peek of the MMSC # 41 sketch. It is also for the DSCB # 3, FFTC # 53 and OSAAT #1.

DSCB # 3 says Mardi Gras. I have no knowlegde about Mardi Gras. So this is I guess a long shot, but the ekstra bling and things I can do ;o)
The challenge said to use either 3 or 6 embellisment ( or more if you like).

I have used: Brads, Flowers, Rhinestones, Lace, Ribbon, Pearls (beads), Glitter, Raindrops and then of course there is the shoes... I think they are so cool that they should count for an embellishment on their own ;o)

The FFTC # 53 Said to make an Easel card.

The OSAAT # 1 Said to use some kind of stichces. Jet another long shot, but the pink paper has a stiches pattern.... That counts rigth? ;o)

It is aslo for Brag Monday #21 over at the Graphics Fairy.

I guess I will have to wait until tomorrow with the link to MMSC#41.

The image is a very lovely girl balancing on a champagne bottle. That is kind of Mardi gras spirit, isn't it? I got that image from the Graphics Fairy.

The background paper har a lot of pink shoes on it. Very girly ;o)

I decided to go with the shoe theme, and added lots of shoes.
The sentiment is from Stempelglede.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a nice evening!

MMSC # 40 and SSHP#18

I just have to show you a picture of Lucas. He has got the most fantastic sleeping positions! He did wake up when I started to take pictures of him, but he did not move. He is sooo coool!

Like I said in an previous post, my Marcus is not very romantic. Sometimes he comes home and says to me " I thought that i should buy you some roses today. But then I did not buy them afterall." To him this is superromantic and lasts for at least a year, maybe even two. But I love him anyway, so I made this valentinecard for him. It is made after the MMSC #40 sketch.

I tried to make it cool, but I could not go past the harts, and then in the end the card was just missing something, and I ended up with some roses. ;o) But it is still a very cool valentinescard I think. Not to girly, even with the roses and the harts.

Saturday Spotlight this week says to use some household items.
My household items is the pinneedles that I have used around the egde of the sideboard.

It gave the paper a kind of padded leather look. The paper here is very cool by the way. It is kind of shiny metallic with hieroglyfs on it. Marcus loves everything ancient so it is a nice fit for him ;o)

The backround image is a drawing from World of Warcraft. Marcus plays this game and he is the one who gave me the image, hoping that I could use it for cards. It is very cool. (Everything is cool today...)

It is the winter olympics now. I always get very sportinterested when the winterolympics is on ;o) I watch EVERYTHING! At Nagano OL in 2002 I sat up all night watching curling. Well, we did win the curlingfinal so it was kind of exciting.
First days of olympics has not been to good jet. Very sad about the Georgian atlet who got killed in competition.

I have got a little plan about something to mark the olympics. Not sure if I will be able to do it so I wount tell jet. You better wait and see ;o)

Sunday the 14th is both Valentinesday and motherday here in Norway. So for those of you stopping by this day, I want to wich you a very happy valentine day, and congratulate all mothers for mothersday!

Thank you so much for stopping by and have a very nice day!

Valentines day is comming up

Kjærlighet

We don't do a lot out of Valentines day here. I guess I would not mind some romance, but the closest Marcus gets to buying something romantic is a USB memory stick........ I guess I can do without that kind of romance. But he does have a lot of other qualities and I do love him!

But no matter what I might think or do, Valentine is comming up and that is showing in the challenges.

These ATC's are for the Art Pieces blog hop where the theme is Love. There were also some other requirements; Red, a hart, a ribbon and some sentiments.
It is also for Simon Says Challenge wich also has the theme Love.
