Simon Says Distress!

I guess that this weeks Simon Says challenge could not be more perfect for me - I distress (almost) everything! *LOL*

I am not sure that I am totally satisfied with this card, but I think that the image is soooo cool, so I decided to go for it anyway.

This very cool house is a drawing from World of Warcraft, and I would just love to live in a house like that. This is the kind of house I think Harry Potter will live in when he grows up. Think of all the magic!

Ok, I am dreaming myself away now *LOL*

The very skilled Simon Says DT members are featuring Tim Holtz products this week. I have certainly had mine in use to. Not that I have a lot of it.

I am particularly satisfied with my faux metal flower. Isn't it cool? I cut out this flower by hand, embossed it once with gold embossing and then gave it a coat of Aged Mahogany Distress embossing. The leafs is some free vector images that I printed, cut out by hand and embossed with gold.

The "gold" knobs on my keyhole is just som regular office brads. I do like the keychain ;o)

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I am celebrating my fathers birthday today, and I am spending easter at my parents home. I will also spend som time at my aunts craftingroom. My poor aunt. She is so tidy, and then she invites me over... I will probably give her a hartattac 'cause I am a big mess!

Now dig out all your Tim Holtz goodies and go banans with distressing. I can't wait to see what you all make!

Take care!

MMSC # 46

I have had a little disagreement with my mojo this week. So this is my second attemt on this MMSC #46 sketch. I really wanted to make a purple card, but that was more difficult than I did expect ;o)

The image in this card is a picture I have cut out of an artbook. I scanned it and put a sepiafilter on it. The image is a painting by a danish artist named Hans Henrik Lerfeldt. And the painting is called "Sweet Reason". The woman actually has a big (and I mean BIG) fly sitting on her shoulder. It is very cool, but maybe not for a greetingcard ;o) So I decided to cover it up.

If you do peek under the flower you can still see the fly, so I guess I will have to give this card to someone I know can take the surprise ;o)

Thank you for stopping by and have a very nice day!

I have had some comments regaring the fly, so I have decided to post the original photo. This is a photo of a painting, I cut the photo out of an artbook. Not sure about the copyrightrules here, but I decided to at least write the name of the painter on the image.

So for those who can deal with bugs and stuff here is the image, for those of you who really don't like flies LOOK AWAY! *LOL*

Simon Says Spring/easter

Goodmorning!
Simon Says challenge asked me if I would stay on as a GD for another 3 weeks. I could not say no to a chance like that. I may not be very smart, but I'm not stupid *LOL*

Thank you so much for having me!

Yesterday I discovered that my Daffodils are comming and the spring feeling just rushed trough my body. I love spring! The sun is shining and the snow is melting - I can't get enough of spring!

Take a look, aren't they cute! We call them easterlillies. I don't think they will be fully grown by easter this year, but early april is fine!

One of our great poets named Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson wrote a poem called "I choose april", I would love to translate it for you, but I just can't.

Anyway, the message is that april is a month were so much is happening in nature, it's when the snow melts and the flower starts growing, it's when what looks dead comes back to life.

So I choose april and I choose spring for this Simon Says challenge. And I thougt that these words from Mae West was just perfect for my spring feeling. Not that I think it is possible to get to much of spring ;o)
The sentiment is a stamp from Penny Black.

I had a lot of new visitors last week, and a few new followers! Thank you so much everybody for stopping by and leaving me some love. I hope I am able to fulfill your expectations!

Now rush over to the Simon Says Challenge, check out what the DT members have made for you and then go and find your springfeeling! Remember that you can enter as may times as you like and there is $25 worth of shopping to to win!

I am not the only one who has a spring feeling I think. My cat Stella sure loves to sit in the sun too ;o)
I think she might have spotted a mouse or something, she have her huntingface on ;o)

Thank you all so much for stopping by! I hope you have a very nice day.

I am linking this card to the following challenges
The secret crafter saturday #75 - Spring has sprung
Jacksonbell tusday challenge #98 - Spring
Crazy 4 Challenges #29 - Spring
Crafty Catz Weekly challeng # 24 - Spring
Challenge up your life - Flower

Jeg velger meg april
I den det gamle faller,
i den det ny får feste;
det volder litt rabalder,
-
dog fred er ei det beste,
men at man noe vil.

Jeg velger meg april,
fordi den stormer,
feier,
fordi den smiler, smelter,
fordi den evner eier,
fordi den krefter velter,
-
i den blir somren til!
~Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson~

Grautlerer med dagen mamma!

Gratulerer med dagen mamma!

It is my mothers birthday today! I am sorry to not be able to celebrate it with her, but we will catch up when I come home for easter!

I made this card for her, using one of Layers of Colors freebie bird. It is made mostely out of plain white cardstock and some vellum music sheets.

I have shown this card on the SNR forum earlier this week, so I'm not sure if it will be accepted into any challenges. Could not show it on my blog until I was sure that my mother had recived it.

Anyway, I am linking this to MMSC #45 since it is made after their CAS sketch.

Thanks for stopping by!

Violett wings

I am so excited to be in Simon Says challenge Disigner spotlight this week!
I did not see that one comming, so I am very honored!

Because of this I thought that I might have a few more visitors this week so I gave my blog a makeover. A big Thank you to the Background Fairy for the images I have used!

This weeks challenge at Simon Says is an easy one, so enter as many times as you like. Just add "A little bit of green". That goes for just about anything don't it?

I have made my card after the MMSC # 45 sketch - wich was a bit different then usual. I am looking forward to see what the MMSC players will come up with. The Design Team sure did a great job!

My card is made with the inspiration from some beautiful DP paper from Websters Page. It is from the Natures collection and is called Violette Wings.

I cut part of the paper into squares and glued them onto some old newspaper DP, and then I cut out the butterflie also from the Violett Wings DP. I loved doing this because then I did not have to color anything ;o)

I sprayed the butterflie with Glimmer Mist and painted it a little bit. Some green in its circels and some copper around the egde.

The dark red paper is from a German company named efco, and the paper is called Writings. Thanks to Mum for bying this for me! The swirls is from my lovely aunt. I am soon running out of these, but I am so lucky that I am spending easter in her crafting room and will be able to add some more of them to my stock ;o)

Now you have to go check out the talented DT members at Simon Says, and then you have to go make a card with something green and enter the challenge!

Thanks for stopping by! You are welcome at anytime! Thanks for all the lovely comments you leave me, it means a lot to me and puts a big smile on my face!

Have a nice day and take care!

Jeg har fått klager igjen.... Jeg slutta å skrive både på norsk og på engelsk fordi det var så mye arbeid, men så begynner noen å klage igjen.... *sukk* Så her kommer norsk kortversjon!

Designer Spotlight for Simon Says denne uken.

Takk!

Ha en riktig fin dag!

Develish Nemi

I discoverd a new challengeblog this week at The Haunted Design House. The Macabre monday challenge! This weeks challenge is called "Oh you Devil". That's a fun one I think!

I have used this great image of Nemi. Nemi is a Norwgian cartoonfigure drawn by Lise Myrhre. Nemi is a blackdressed unemployed young girl, struggeling with the fact that she is growing up. She is hard on the outside but soft as it gets on the inside. She may look develish on this image, but show her a dragon and she will go all cuddely wubbely on you *LOL*

I love Nemi!

Since the MMSC has begun to give out sneak pea on their sketches I have got so much time, so I am entering twice this week. This card is also made after the MMSC #44 sketch. A bit differnt from my other entry ;o)

I did need something in the top left corner and I decided that 25 was just the rigth ting, no matter whos birthday it is - a woman never gets older then 25 ;o)

The coolest thing I did with this card, was that I embossed the Mulberry roses with distress embossing. There was a bit of smoke and some bad smell occured, but it looks great - right!

I printed the image on some glossy photopaper, torn the egdes and rubbed over it with some sandpaper. Then I gave it all a good rub with Vintage Photo distress ink.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Disturbia

I cant belive that I won the Simon Says challenge! 440 participants and I won? I never win anything so being drawn out of the box like that was quite a shocking experience - but a good shocking ;o) I spent all $25 (+ some) on Tim Holtz products. Can't wait to get them in my mailbox.

Yesterday I discoverd a stamping forum that I think I will like very much. The Smeared and Smuged Forum . I do from time to time like to make some card on the darker side, so this was the perfect place for that.

This month their Rock and Rolla group have a challenge based on Rhiannas video "Disturbia". I had to play with that, and made this card:

I was inspired by Rhiannas red lipstick and her fabuolus fan. It was also the perfect occasion for me to use this World of Warcraft Goblin image. I actually think that this Goblin looks a bit like Rhianna - except from the complexion......

Making the fan was quite a job. I actually made a fan of woodsticks and paper and lace and everthing - took me all night yesterday and the best part of today - and then it was to big... so I went with an easier one - but still pretty good looking I think!

I will also link this card to the Simon Says challenge wich is a sketch this week. The DT team there have all gone for Magnolias this week - I know I might be a bit off from that ;o)

Thank you so much for stopping by. You all leave so many sweet comments, and I do appriciate it soo very much! Take care!

Vintage rose inchies

I got this award for this card! Thank you so much!

The card is for the MMSC # 44 - sketch and for DSCB #6 - inchies. It will also be for Simon Says Challenge - Mothers day/girly. Simon Says has passed 300 entries this week and is going for 400. That is soo cool!
It is also for Cupcake craft challenge # 81 - Flower Power

We got a new computersystem at work to day.... I guess you all can feel the frustration ooozing out of me, just by writing about it.... It will be ok, and it will be better than the one we had, but when you have to learn at the same time as you are dealing with customers, and have to know what you are doing to be able to help the same customer, well then my heads gets a bit warm. I also desperatly need a new computermous at work, my arms are killing me.

So enough of the whining already! This card started out as a pink/purple/white card. Light and easy and with a summerfeel. I had it all planned out and all the pieces cut out. But then I had to find the centerimage, and it had to be one that I could divide into inches (for the DSCB challenge, so I tried one image after another and it was just not right - until I found this one. It was perfect.

So I started to color it, and when I was done with that, it did no longer fit onto a pink/purple/white card. So then the pink/purple and white went back to live in the forgotten-drawers and I found this light brown vintagelooking paper with handwritings on - and well then it was set - I was going vintage - again!

The image is from Impression Obession, and it is divided into small squares, so I just cut them out, and puzzeled the image back togheter using foamdots.

Thank you so much for stopping by. Have a nice day!

Purple and black, and some womans back

Some times crafting can be a challenge on its own. Like I have had some misunderstandig with my mojo this last week - that has been a challenge. Other times my blobby fingers just don't wanna do what I tell them. But then there are forces wich is out of my control that interups my crafting. This happend while trying to make this card.

(Sokrates is transferring some catmagic onto my card)

I have nothing to withstand forces like this. The card just had to wait. Hopefully he transferred some of his catmagic to the card, so that the reciver don't just get catcoothies.

Anyway, I did finish the card - eventually. And I think I will link it to these challenges:

MMSC # 43 - Sketch
Pollycraft Monday # 35 - Distressing
Papertake Weekly - Buttons, bows, brads & bling
Lexi's # 8 - Anything goes
Tellen's Place #8 - Anything goes
C.R.A.F.T. Challenge # 8 - Ribbons and sparkle
Treehouse Thursday Challenge # 38 - Bling
SSDS # 29 - Sparkle and shine
Simon says - Mother's day/girly

I have never entered so many challenges at the same time before... I think it is very timeconsuming to find all these challenges, but I am sitting here waiting for some glue to dry.... Looking at this photo I see that I should have waited some more... Sorry about that.

I do see that there are a lot of people out there who do describe how they made their cards. That is very nice, I like that, I just find it so difficult to do myself. I did take some pieces of paper and glued them together. Embossed some grungeboard, tied a ribbon and then I added some stash. And VOILA! I don't know what else to say about that. So I guess I should leave the descrition thing to the ones who know how to do it.

I have embossed the grungeboardelements with distress embossing, Vintage Photo.

The image is one I have found on the net somewhere.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you have a nice day! Your sweet comments sure makes MY day ;o)

You can never go wrong with black and white (and some calas)

I am back in my comfortzone here. yesterday I made a yellow card.... that's not my color at all, so I was very happy to see that Scrappekammeret had a black and white challenge this week.

You can never go wrong with black and white.

Challenges:
Scrappekammeret #3 - black/white
Sketch and stash # 30 - Sketch
FTTC #56 - Scallops

My new stash is this fabric flowers. I learnt how to make them yesterday. Now I am destroying all the fabric I can find to make them. This one is made out of a piece og curtain and a piece of a trouser.... I will have to go naked if this continues. See how to make them at Saritas blog. I gave the flower a dash of glimmermist.

The panel with the scallops on (what does scallops mean? oh... not sure that it made any more sense to me when I checked the dictionary - det betyr kammusling) I just have to take the chance that I have some scallops on my card here.... Anyway, what I was going to say, was that I have embossed this panel, once with an all white embossing, and then once with an with embossing with silver glitter in it.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a very nice day!
