Waiting for snow

I am very dissappointed that we did not get snow for christmas this year. We got some 3 days before, but it all rained away little christmas eve :S It is to warm to have fire in the fireplaceand there is just nothing reminding me about winter outside...

I have been dow with a bad back all christmas, lying on the sofa feeling sorry for myself, now finally these two last days I have been able to sit again, so now it was time to craft again. I did get a lot of crafting goodies from santa this year :)

This tag is for Simon Says Stamp and Show  (make a TH inspired tag) and for Grungy Monday (tissue tape og paper).

My inspiration was the last tag of 2009
I stamped the bg with TH Christmas carol and flourish. Under the roses I have made a section with snowflake tissuetape. Does not show very good in the picture, but its there - you just have to belive me :)
The roses is from Kort og Godt. I sprayed them with Distress reinkers for color and some glimmermist for sprakle. Then I painted the egdes with white acrylic paint and then added some diamond stickles on top of that. The leaf was dabbed with snow cap paint dabber.

I added all the bling by hand and then cut out the letters using TH upon a time alphabet die. Then the letters were covered with stickles.

Now can we please have some snow?

I also have to show you my husbands creations. He was so sweet and made his own tags for christmas.
He did a good job I think, now I am afraid that I might have to fight him for the craftingstuff......

Thank you so much for stopping by!

12 Tags # 12

We have come to the end of Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas. He did finish it of with a bang I think. His last tag is gorgeous!

This year I have been following his design pretty close this year, and I tried to do that for this one also.

Thanks for stopping by!
Now, maybe I will make some christmascards.... or maybe not...

12 Tags # 9 and # 10

I am still palying catch up with Tim Holtz 12 tags. I have now finished Tag # 9 and # 10. Tomorrow will be the last day of the tags, so if I get the chance to finish them both tomorrow I will be right on scedule *LOL* Oh well, I have no illusions ..... :)

So here are the tags:

# 9

# 10

This one was hard to photograph so I have taken a close up also.

I really love how those santafragments turned out :)

Thanks for stopping by!

12 Tags # 7 and # 8

I am still palying catch up with the 12 tags... now I have finished #8 so I am still 2 days behind, and when I wake up tomorrow I will be 3 days behind.... There is no mercy in this game!

I have spent my saturday watching the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony while preparing for Sebastians birthday. We do not celebrate big, but he of course had his favorite dinner wich is trout. He is a fisheater :)

Anyway, I have to say something about this years Nobel Peace Prize. This year it was awarded to three amazing women. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Leymah Gbowee and Tawakkol Karman. Three strong women with some strong stories.

This is an important prize because it represents womens suffering in war and the importans of including women in peacenegotiations.
There was so much I chould have said, but these women makes me speachless of admiration. I wish them the best of luck in their fight and struggle, leading a country torn apart of civil war (Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, president of Liberia, the first female president in Africa), leading a non violent women organization responsible for ending the civil war in Liberia ( Leymah Gbowee, I don't believe that she is the same age as me.... she has ended a civil war.... I have made cards......), and finally Tawakkol Karman, current leader of a non violent revolution in Yemen, still fighting (non-violent) for a free Yemen.

Please read more about them and their lecture at the Nobel Institute website

So, sorry about that - sometimes the world just have to get a place in my crafting world.

Over to the tags.

# 7

I really like this tag! I think it is gorgeous!

# 8

This one I don't like.

Thanks for stopping by! It is now 01:00 in the morning, I would like to catch up on some more tags, but I guess it will have to wait until the morning... Sleep tight!

Happy Birthday Sebastian!

My dear stepson Sebastian is turing 14 next tuesday. He is not going to be home that day so we will celbrate him Tomorrow (or actually it is today). And I am sitting up late making a last minute card for him. I had no idea what to make for him, he is a computerguy, so all these sportthemed boysimages does not fit him. But I do belive that steampunk really captures the spirit of him. He has been asking the thoughest questions all his life. You need to have a Ph.D in like everything technical to satisfy his curiosity. When he was 4 he wanted to know what happened in the wall when you turned on the lightswitch... At dinner tonight we discussed energy, how to make it and how to make a selfpowered machine... if that is not steampunk, then I have misunderstood the consept *LOL*

So I hope my beloved stepson likes his card, his presents and that his birthday will be a fine one.

If you did not know it by know, my stamps are from Darkroom Door. I know that I will have to wrap them up for christmas, because they are christmasgifts, but I will have to wait until last minute to wrap them up, I don't think I can live for a day without them *LOL*
You might say that Darkroom Door is my new favorite.

12 Tags # 4

I am a bit behind on the 12 tags. I have had a bad back for a few days and then everything goes south... Oh well..

Here is my forth tag. Stayed pretty close to Tim Holtz original design, but changed a few things. I don't have the snowflake on the egde die, so I used a technique Tim showed us last year, I dried embossed a sheet of acetate and covered the whole tag. It really gives it a frosty look.

Thanks for stopping by!

12 Tags # 3

I am falling behind on the 12 tags, trying to play catch up, but somehow there where other things needing my attention the humongus dustrabbits flying all over the house....

Anyway here is my second take on the third tag, the first one I made was a good idea in theory but did not work out well :)

Take a look over at Tim Holtz' blog and join in on the fun!

12 Tags # 2

It is day 2 of Tim Holtz 12 tags of Christmas. Come join the fun!

I did go in a very different direction with my tag today. That is because I have got some Darkroom Door stamps and I just have to use them. :)
I am quite excited about these new stamps I have got :)

I actually think that this tag looks a little boring, but with this tag it is all about the details.

I used a piece of sheet music, and embossed the compassrose and some text with clear embossing powder. Then I wwashed over it with white acrylic paint (don't have paint dabbers)

I added some charms, a key and a ruler, to some jute.

I stamped some steampunk gear and glued on some more gear (could have waited till the glue dried before I took photos.....)

I stamped my steampunk man onto some canvas and gave him a penny necklace. The details in the stamp did of course not like the canvas, but I think it looks cool anyway - you can still see the man right?

At the bottom I cut out a piece of railwaytracks that I placed down with some brads.

Who needs reindeers when you have steampunk????

12 Tags #1

Tim Holtz is back with his 12 tags of christmas. I have been looking forward to this creative event. His first tag gave me quite a few headackes, but I finally finished it.
I am particularly satisfied with the fact that I managed to use my new Darkroom Door stamp :) Oh you are going to be so fed up with Darkroom Door when these 12 tags are over *LOL* I will probably use them every day.

I did not have his pinecone die, but I have got something even better - I have real pinecones :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Tick tock - somebody is getting old!

Thank you so much to my favorite girls over at Midnight Madness for giving me a Gold star award for this card :)
Thank you so much!

Ok, that was not nice of me to say *thihi*

It is so great to play with my friends over at Midnight Madness again! Hi girls! I miss you! And today it was extra fun 'cause I got happy mail today :) I got this stampset from Darkroom Door in the mail today and I love it!

I combined one of the clocks with this cool frame from Stempelglede and I think it looks smashing!

It is great to feel the creative juices flowing again and tomorrow TH starts his 12 tags! I am sooooo ready!

When you wish upon a star

Simon Says Stamp and Show came with a new challenge today, and I was so disappointed when I saw that the theme was "stars". I don't use stars, so that was a real downer.
Then I was chatting with Lovely Linda on Facebook. I told her about the theme and said that it really did not do anything for my mojo. Then I said " I can't remember that I have ever used stars...." and Lovely Linda says "Did you use a star on you CAS Christmas cards?".... and she was right of course, I used a star just a few weeks ago.... is it the age that is catching up with me? Alzheimers light or something? Anyway, it did get my mojo flowing, and even though this is the third or fourth attempt on using this star, I think that I finally got there :)

Thank you Linda for getting me back on track!

I don't remeber where this star is from, probably Kreativ Hobby, but I have had it for years. But this year is the first that I have managed to use it. Isn't that weird. You buy a stamp, you love it, but then you don't know how to use it and it ends up in your drawer... Happens way to often if you ask me :)

My sentiment is from Stempelglede and my flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. And then I added some small pearls in between the flowers.

I covered the stars with Cinamon Stickles and added a little pearl in the center. It does not show very good in the picture.

At the side I hand stiched with a ribbon and added a TH metal charm saying "Wish".
Thanks for stopping by!

Angelic christmas

Here is another christmascard I made tonight.
I am not really fond of angels, they give me some bad assosiations, but this stamp is gorgeous, so I decided to give it a go anyway. It is a pretty simple card, easy on postage :) Some scappringfriends of mine was making fun of my cards earlier, saying that it would be cheaper to take two weeks off work, drive around the country staying at hotels and hand deliver my christmascards, than it would be to mail them..... I really don't understand what they are talking about *LOL*

I am also ready for advent. I have decorated my candles and is looking forward to light the first one tomorrow.
