LOC Cake Party!

Welcome to the Layers of Colors big Cake Decorating Party!
It is my last week as Guest designer for Layers of Colors and I have had a great month!
To make sure that I did go out with a big bang I decided to make a couple of cake slice boxes, and before I knew it, it ended up with a fabolous cake party blog hop!
If you came from Graces blog you are on the right track!

These boxes were a lot of fun to make. I have used the Joiful Noise Set and the Merci Buoquet set.

I used the Joiful Noise set for my top decorations.

On the side I used the Merci Bouquet stampset.

I filled it up with yellow and pink roses, a stick pin and a metal butterfly. In between the roses there are small blue pearls. Over it all I have spun some gold tread.

I also used the Merci Bouquet on the end of the slice. Then I made this haning charm from some beads I have in my stack and topped it of with a little white bow.

But You know, I am getting marrid in a months time - so I kind of needed a wedding cake - right? Even though it is going to be a small and quiet wedding a girl is in title to have a three tire wedding cake!

Layers of Colors wedding cake!

For my bottom tire I have used the Merci Bouquet stamp set.
I have distressed all egdes with Distress ink Vintage Photo.

As top decoration I have stamped both the small and the big flower from the Nature walk set and cut them out. Added some stickles to the egdes and glued them togheter with a pearl in centre.

I think that these little flowers from the Merci Bouqet set is gorgeous!

My second tire has a butterflyflavor.

I have used the Belle brocade art stencil on the top of each slice. then on every other I have stamped a butterfly from the Flutterscent set and added some fluffy string around it.  On the end I have stamped the leaf from the Merci Bouquet set.

On my top tire I have used the smalest flower from the Merci Bouquet set, both on the back and on top.
My top decorations are made of the biggest butterfly from the Flutterscent set.

So, now I am ready to get married!

I am sorry for the bad photos, but this was one difficult cake to photograph!

If you want to join us that would be great fun! Here is the template I have used for my cakes.  I know that Laura has a little givaway going today. She just became a grandmother.
Congratulations Laura - little Landon is so sweet!

Thank you so much for stopping by!
I now say thank you to Laura for giving me this opportunity to be Guest Designer for her gorgeous line of stamps.
The next stop on our bloghop is Guro.

PDCC#68

I have not played with the color challenge over at the Play date cafe for a long time! My weeks just don't have enough hours! But when I saw this inspirational photo I just had to find time for it!
I was supposed to upload this last night, but had some serious issues with blogger and could not do it. And now I was to late to enter it to the Play date Cafe challenge..... oh well...

I had a lot of fun making this!

Both this frame and the sentiment is from at Christina Re stampset that I got from Lovely Linda! I really love this sentiment! The gorgeous krinkled ribbon is one I got from Tracy.

The image and the vintage ad behind it is both some free download I have found on the net.
I made these flowers myself by just rolling some of the krinkeled ribbon. The butterfly is from Layers of Colors, the Flutterscent set.

Thanks for stopping by!
Don't forget to come back next wednesday for the big Layers of Colors Cake party!

LOC Read something

I have been wanting to make some bookmarks for quite some time, but just never got to it. I did not really know how to.  Then I realized that the Layers of Colors stamps are perfect for the kind of bookmarks I wanted to make. Layers of COlors have ceveral long stamps that are just so right for this shape.

I have only made these 4 so far, but I see a lot more of them in my future *LOL*
For this bookmark I used the Merci Bouquet stamp set. The egdes is distressed with Worn Lipstick Distress ink. I punched out some small butterflies and some flowers. Images is colored with chalk.

Here I used the Thouch of Elegance set. The egdes is distressed with Broken China Distress ink. The shoe is something I got from a local discount store. On the background I have used the  Natural Flourish art stensil
For this bookmark I have used the Joiful Noise set and the Thouch of Elegance set. Then I punched out some small notes. Added some stickles to the notekey. The egdes is distressed with Dusty Concord Distress ink.

On this card I have used the Flutterscent set, the nature walk set and the Merci Bouqet set and the Joiful Noise set. The egdes is distressed with Spiced Marmelade Distress ink.

I hope you will all stop by the Layers of Colors blog and see all the gorgeous creations that the LOC Design Team has made. Also stop by the LOC Flickr group!

I hope to see you again next wednesday for my next Layers of Colors Guest Designer creations, and don't forget about our big CAKE PARTY february 23.

As always it's "YOUR PICK" Make it fancy, clean and simple, or somewhere in-between.

The image is from Paper Pretties and is called Dreamboat.

Pink is not a color I use a lot, but this time it was actually quite fun to go pink.
I have colored the pretty couple with my new Derwent Inktense colorpencils. They sure are InkTense! I will need some time to get used to that. I am not very good at coloring to begin with, so images like this always scares me a lot. I did the best I could.
On John's jacket I did the outline with a black ballpoint pen to give it an illusion of beeing made of leather. Then I added some glitterglue to the girls dress. I stamped the image twice and colored one in black for shadow. Along the outline of the shadow I have added some black stickles. It does not show in the picture, but gives a cool effect real life.
Then I put the colored image on foamdots and put it a little bit off centre from the black shadow.

Just a little silver flower. I really love these metal flowers. The black thing is something I have taken from an old necklace that I have picked apart.

No one can rock without a guitar! I think this must be a Gibson ;o)

Valentine

Here is a little tag I made for Marcus for Valentines day.
I decided to give him a gift for valentines this year so he gets a tag rather then a card.

I handdrew the birdcage onto grungeboard and cut it out with a knife. I then painted it with Magicals from Lindys stamp gang. Inside there is a wood heart that I have got from a local discount store (Nille). The birdcage background is white cardstock that I driedembossed then then rubbed over with Distress ink Fired Brick. I layed it all on a little peice of corrugated cardbord. Some lace and some ribbon, of course a line of pearl and then this little, very, very cool metal frame. Inside I put a piece of paper with the text Amor Vincit Omnia written on. The metalframe is part of a RAK I got from my mother.

I also made the wrappingpaper for the gift. It is the background you see here. It looks quite good I think!
Now - I hope it makes him happy!

LOC Be my Valentine

Valetines day is coming soon and this is my Valentines Card - Layers of Color style.
For this card I have used the Merci bouquet stamp set. It has some amazingly pretty flowers

I cut out two hearts in just plain white cardstock. Distressed the egdes witht a scissor and then with Vintage Photo Distress ink. I have also used this ink for stamping my images. The center images is stamped twice, the first one is cut out and popped up on foamdots. The second one I just cut out the flowers, I colored them just a little bit with calk and then distressed the egdes before I attached it to the other stamp. On the egde of the biggest heart I added some stickles. I have totally fallen in love with a color called Cinnamon. I use it all the time! I bougth one bottle in December and now I just bought myself a new one.
I have used quite a bit of lace and ribbon on this card. Three strips of white lace and one stip of brown ribbon. I added three flowers and a hat-pin with some beads and a bow on.

My background is also just white cardstaock that I have dryembossed. Added some Vintage Photo Distress ink to the raised part of the embossing folder so that it added color at the same time as it embosses. This is a supercool tecnique and it is so easy. You just rub your inkpad over the raised pattern on your embossing folder and then dry emboss as usual.  It really creates an extra dimension to your dry embossing.
