A saturday night tag

This tag was supposed to be made by using one of the Creative Chemistry 101 techniques - it turned out to be made by a mix of a couple of the techniques and then with some special touches by me... maybe I actually created my own technique here.... wouldn't that be fun.
Anyway, it turned out to be something comming out of a brothel with the black lace and the dark red. I beg my excuses to the poor lady in the photo to be used in such a way - My intentions were good!

- Distress stains: Picket fence, barn door, walnut stain
- TH tissuetape: dictionary
- Acrylic paint dabber: snow cap
- Stamp: TH flourish
- Frame, pearls and metal charm from Kort og Godt
- Picture from North Star Stamp
- Flowers from Wild Orchid Craft

Creative Chemistry 101 - Rock Candy Distress stickles technique

I am sorry to say that my title here is not correct, I guess I have to say that my tag today was inspired by this technique, but does not really follow the steps accuratly - but close enough :)

I find it kind of ironically that I spend the hottest day so far this year to sit inside and make a christmastag :) A tag with snow and snowflakes - I can't say that I long for this altough it is a little bit to warm for me these days.

- Craft tag # 8
- Distress inks - tubmled glass, stormy sky, faded jeans, vitange photo, walnut stain
- Stamps: angel from Kort og Godt? Snowflake from Stempelglede, Snowflake from Tim Holtz
- Distress stickles picket fence and Crystal
- Cotton, cotton balls, lace, charms and tag from my stash.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Creative Chemistry 101 Blended distress/ spritz & flick

It is a hot summersday here in Norway - to hot for me. I don't take heat well. So instead of sitting outside in the sun like all normal and sensible norwegians is supposed to do on such a beautiful day - I stayed inside, not that it is any cooler inside, but at least I am out of the sun. So I have been playing in my craftroom and I finally got around to do something with the stuff I learned at Tim Holtz Creative Chemistry 101 classes.
For this tag I have used the Spritz & flick technique for the background. I love the bright colors and the contrast of the black letterst against the bright orange. I don't do bright colors very often - too afraid of them I think, but this came out pretty nice :)

- page from old dictionary
- distress inks - Vintage Photo, tumled glass, pine needle, spiced marmelade, worn lipstick
- TH Alterations Carnivale die
- TH Idea-ology Timepieces
- TH Grungeboard Elements (More than 6 mnd old)
- Ranger Perfect pearl
- Flowers from WOC
-Butterfly from MS
- Lace

Zipper tag

This tag is heavily inspired by a tag I found over at Pinterest. I just loved the zipper idea. I used it for the card and top hat for my stepsons confirmation, but I really wanted to make a feminine one as well. The inspirationtag is fantastic and I love it, but actually I love mine too. Isn't that great? When you make something and even love it yourself - does not happen to often for me, I am my own worst enemy and critic *lol*

Anyway - here is my tag!

I colored the whole tag with Distress Stain barn door and then sprayed Perfect Pearl mist over it and dried it with a heat gun. Then I added a piece of lace at the top and a ticket that I printed out.

Over this I glued down my zipper but added lace on the inside of it first. Over this I glued down paper. This is from Bo Bunny, the Timepiece collection. I distressed the egdes and curled up the sides to fit the zipper. Stamped some postmarks to it and distressed all around the egdes with Walnut stain. Then added tre rosebuds and a big heart inside.

I added a piece of lace at the bottom of the tag and covered it with white roses in three sizes. Added some little red pearls in between and some stickles to the center of the three big roses.
All my roses is from Wild Orchids Craft.

The ticket is selfmade - I am very happy with that one. I made it in Photoshop and it has kind of a jeanstexture to it. And then finaly added the metal charm using a safetypin.

I love it! :) I love the contrast between the brown and the roman numbers up against the pure white roses.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

12 tags of 2012 #5

May is here and this means that Tim Holtz has made his May tag.
I did follow his tag pretty closely this time - hard not to when I actually have the stampes he used....

I stamped my images onto kraft wrappingpaper and curled it up before gluing it onto a tag. I stamped both images in black, the bg image I then went over with a white watercolorpencil and the dressform image was coverd with glossy accents.
I used a strip of tissuetape and added some numbers to them and then handstitched around the egde of it. My metal tag is just a round metal plate, I stamped the image onto some paper and glued it onto the metal and attached it to the tag using a safety pin.

My spool is plastic, but I did emboss it.  Not very sucessful because the plastic melted really fast... then I wrapped some jute around it. I don't have a melting pot nor do I have UTEE, so I covered my flowers with Glossy accents and I think it gave me about the same effect. I added some tulle behind the spool and glued it down.

Steampunk top hat and card

My stepson Sebastian is having his Confirmation this sunday and I wanted to make him something spescial.

I decided to make him a top hat - just because I have fallen in love with them and love making them... I am a selfish stepmom *LOL*

And because I love steampunk - it turned out to be a steampunk hat :)

In the center of the zipper I have used a picture that Sebastian has taken. It is a very cool close up of a metal drain gitter.

The hat was covered in black felt and lined on top and bottom with a black silk ribbon. I have used a zipper and a feather and some black lace. The metal is mostely from Tim Holtz so also the filmstrip.
I did find a treasure in my stash while making this - it turns out that I have a little bottle of stickles with the name of Gunmetal.... how cool is that! And I did not know that I had it... Made my day!
The "Adventure" and "Exploration" stamps are from Darkroom Door. Stamped onto Tattered Banners from Tim Holtz

And of course I had to make a matching card. They look very much a like, probably caused by my laziness or lack of inspiration at this point.

The "Til" stamp is from Stempelglede and the "Konfirmanten" stamp is from Kort og Godt.

Here is the picture I have used when making this hat and card. Is it not a cool picture? He is a good photographer I think - he is only 14 remember.

Thank you so much for stopping by.
