Depths of Distress or maybe De-stress?

I do find crafting to be very de-stressing, and working with layers of distress definitly is a good way to clear my head and lower my shoulders :) Next I need the crafting to heal my back - but I guess that might be a lot to ask from some papers and some ink....

- Distress ink: Spiced marmelade, Barn Door, Faded Jeans, Pine Needle, Fired Brick, Tea Dye
- Stamps: Layers of Colors butterflies,  French Script (unknown)
- Flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts

The Whatevers #1

Go Check out Natahalie's Studio to join The Whatevers!

I do not scrapbook a lot, so I thought this might be a fun way to maybe get in the mood for Scapbooking also -
anyway, I think this was a fun idea.

This picture did remind me a lot about Fanny and Alexander, so that is what I called them, and it made me think about a scene in that movie when it is christmas. The kids have been waiting all day and in the evening the father opens the large door to the formal livingroom and there is this gigantic 3 meter tall christmastree. Well, at least I hope that scene was from Fanny and Alexander.... I might be wrong :)

Here is my story:

Christmas eve is the longest day in the year... We have to get up early, put on our finest clothing and wear it all day... that means we can do anything fun cause we must not get dirty before going to church. We know that the tree has been decorated and is behind the closed door to the formal livingroom, but we are not allowed to see it. We know about the presents under the tree, but we have to wait. All we do this day is wait and wait and wait and it is soooooo boring! And then all the grown ups expect us to be so darn happy all day - smiling, laughing - don't you belive it, they even wanted us to smile when they forced us to sit down for taking our picture. But we would not do that! Oh no we didn't! Give us some presents, then maybe we will smile for your photos!
Fanny and Alexander

Even though my story is about christmas, I did not want to make a christmaspage and ended up with a yellow and orange one. I tried to make it a little Finnabair-style, but faild :) I screwed it all up trying to add black to it.
Who cares, I like it this way.

White hat

I really enjoy making these hats :) and I have for a while now wanted to make a white one. My plan was that it was supposed to be all white, but I never follow my plans...... It did turn out to be one fit for a wedding, that was not my plan at all, I just wanted it to be soft and feminine... but ok, that is my excuse for trying again :)

Don't say it's alright!

This did not start as an angry Art Journal page, but it ended up like one. Today I feel very much like this poor girl, one-eyed, frustrated, angry and sad. The whole page is just a big mess really, but thats me today.

The girl is downloaded from La Belle Brocante.

Anger therapy

This is an anger therapy Art Journal page. I was really angry when I started making this page, and I wanted it to be an angry page, but when I sat there glueing down fabricstrips - the anger disappeared.........
so it became anger therapy instead, you gotta love that!

Don't Tread on my Dreams

I am still trying this art journaling thing. A year in the Life of an Art Journal let their linkythingy stay open for a whole year so there is plenty of time to play along with previous challenges, so to try and get my head around this I am going to do that.

THE PROMPT: Bloom Where You're Planted

ie: count your blessings
THE STUFF: Scrapbooking flower embelishments ie: prima flowers, stickers
THE TECHNIQUE: paint/stamp/stain the flowers

I found this quote by W. B. Yeats and really liked it.

One of the things that I really like about this art journaling thing is the possibility to use some of my stash that just don't work with cards or tags - like these flowers, they are way to big to be used on cards and I have loads of them!  So then I used loads on this page :) They represent my dreams... I have loads of them also!

12 tags of 2012 - June

Tim Holtz has come with his 6th tag of the year (actually it is only 5 cause he has still not made the january one....), but this time I decided not to make a tag. I have got a million tags lying around and I don't know what to do with them, should I start giving random gifts to people just to use them? Anyway, I made a card. I used the photo that TH gave us, and some of the elements he used on his tag, but then I made it mine. Some fabric, lots of flowers, a butterfly and a flourish.  But there is something about this card.... I don't know - I like it, but then I don't like it also, can't really put my finger to it.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Oh so pretty and a man card

I have had some great days in my craft room. I don't think I have been doing this much crafting for months!

Today I made this purple, superfeminine, soft and vintage card. Lots of laces and flowers, pearls and butterflies.

A couple of days ago I saw a card over at Pinterest and thought "Hey - I can make that! I have got those papers!" So I made that card - or almost, and actually I made 4 of them :) Good to have some man cards in the box. I have now covered the man sports of pool, racing cars, golf and tennis. :)

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Steampunk tag

I had a lot of fun making this steampunk tag. I really like the kind of worn coppery colors I managed to make. And even though it might be very wrong I do like the butterflies and the gears togehter.

This stamp is one that I got in a RAK from Lovely Linda. It was a whole set and there was another stamp on the set that was actually the one I wanted, but this one is the one I use all the time :) Thank you so much for this Linda!

- Craft tag #8
- TH embossing folders: Postcard, gears
- Distress ink: Black soot, Vintage photo
- TH tissue tape: Dictionary

- Spellbinders Sprightly Sprockets
- TH Tattered Banners
- Lindys Stamp Gang: Magicals - Cocoa Bean Copper, Moon Shadow Mist - Sossamer Gold, Starburst sprays - Mission bells brown
